Week Fifteen - Exhibit Critique

 1. Which projects did you review?
I reviewed “Natures Finest” by Demi Flynn as well as several more, but enjoyed this one the most.

 2. Why did you select the Exhibit you critiqued?
I researched several exhibits, but finally decided on this one, because I was impressed by the images and flow of the exhibit.

 3. What challenges did you face in writing the critique article and how did you overcome them?
I was challenged in writing the critique article, because I have never had to analyze another peer’s work. I found it difficult at first to make decisions on what to judge and what not too. In the end I came to the realization that my opinion is what matters, because as the viewer and analyst I need to express what I think and how the exhibit makes me feel.

 4. How do you feel about critiquing your peers work?
I felt confident after finishing my assignment and receiving my grade for the assignment that I could accurately analyze my peers work.

 5. Would you like to read the critique your peers wrote about your Art Curation Project?
Yes, I would, because this would be helpful in the review process of my work.

 6. On a scale of 1-10 how would you rate your finished article and why?
I would rate my finished article a nine, because I did the best that I could to complete the assignment to my ability. I only rate it a nine, because there is always room for improvement.

 7. Did you enjoy working on this project?
Yes, I did enjoy working on this assignment very much. I was impressed with how everyone else did their exhibits. I learned a lot from reviewing their work.

Week Fifteen- Art Gallery Visit #3: Self-Portraits Art Making/Material Exploration Blog

These pieces of self-portrait are some that I reviewed when doing the art exhibit project. They are some of the most famous paintings around the world.

                                                            Pablo Picasso "Self Portrait"

Van Gogh's "Self-Portrait"

 Mona Lisa

Original Picture

Completed Picture

1. Why did you select the inspiration pieces?
I found all three of these pieces to be interesting. They inspired me to explore different ways to complete my own piece.

2. Why did you select the media to create your self-portrait?
I selected to use oil pastels as my media, because it allowed me to use a media that I was not familiar with using. I also picked this media, because I thought it looked unique

 3. What challenges did you face in creating your self-portrait and how did you overcome them?
I was challenged in learning how to use to oil pastel feature. It was difficult at first, but after some practice, I got the hang of it. I started my portrait by using pencil to make the necessary shapes and filling them in with the different pastels.

 4. How does this piece represent you?
This piece represents me best, because I am sitting at my grandmother’s house where I grew up wearing my favorite black hat and blue shirt. I think that anyone who knows me would say that this is a good representation of myself.

 5. What elements and principles of art did you apply in this work?
I used many elements and principles in this portrait including lines, shapes, color, texture, contrast, emphasis and pattern. I used all of these elements and principles to create a life like self-portrait.

 6. Did you enjoy working on this project?
I enjoyed working on this project very much. This project allowed me the opportunity to view many different types of self-portraits. It also allowed me to overcome the challenges of creating my own self-portrait. This was one of my favorite assignments this semester.

 7. What do you think of your final artwork?
I really think that my final artwork is impressive and realistic. I think that moving forward that I will continue to obtain a higher skill level, which will result in my future work being much better.

Week Fifteen - Video Review Blog

1. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned.

Greenberg on Art Criticism: An Interview by T. J. Clark: This video discusses the types of art criticism by identifying and analyzing different artist’s pieces of work. Through this, you are able to distinguish the artist’s criticisms through their work. I enjoyed this video because it allowed me to better understand art criticism and how it is identified.

Jackson Pollock: Michael Fried and T. J. Clark in Conversation: This film discusses Jackson Pollock’s work and the effect of such work. Many questions have been raised, because of Jackson Pollock’s artistic style. The two people in the video go through the process of art criticism in analyzing Jackson Pollock’s art. I found this video to interesting, because it relates well to the project we just completed and expands on the first film.

2. Do the videos relate to the creation of your Art Criticism project? If yes, explain how. If no, explain why not.

Yes, the videos relate to the creation of your Art Criticism project. The videos provide an explanation of various types of art criticism. This is done by analyzing artwork and discussing other artist’s art criticisms.

3. What is your opinion of the films? Do they add depth to understanding of art criticism?

I enjoyed the films, because they provided a different perspective beyond the text and different details about both subjects that I found interesting. I was especially interested in how these videos related to my project and the key concepts about art criticism.

Reflection Journal - Process in creating this Art Curation Exhibition.

Reflection:
I think that the hardest part of this project for me was deciding on a topic for my project. After some research on my favorite works of art I found one common element, which was the influence of France. Many of the paintings that I researched and wanted to incorporate into this project had this in common. So, I decided that this would be the theme to my project. After deciding on the theme I researched as many pieces of art that were influenced by Paris, France in some way. Then I sorted through them and decided on which would be included in my project. Next, I began constructing my power point and how I wanted it to be structured. Each day I would spend a few hours adding more to the project and fine tuning things for each piece. Finally, after everything was completed I continued to watch the slide show and make some necessary adjustments. This assignment was much more difficult than I originally thought it would be, but it was also very exciting and informative. This was my favorite assignment this semester.

Week Thirteen and Fourteen - Blog: Video Review

1.) For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned.
The Lowdown on Lowbrow: West Coast Pop Art

- Describes an underground visual art movement that arose in the Los Angeles, California, area in the late 1970s. It is a populist art movement with its cultural roots in underground comix, punk music, and hot-rod cultures of the street. Lowbrow art appeals to people because pop culture, culture, and folk art have all had major influences in the genre.

Displaying Modern Art: The Tate Approach
- This film discussed the method of displaying modern art, demonstrated in the Modern Museum of Art. Modern art in the MOMA from 1929 onwards was displayed primarily in chronological order, representing each art movement. In the 1970s, traditional ways of displaying modern art were questioned, which started a movement to remove art from the walls to become busy, noisy, and active.

Bones of Contention: Native American Archaeology
-This film discusses Native American bones, which were collected as a scientific curiosity during the U.S. genocide against Indians. One issue that the film discussed was that Anthropologists differ on whether or not the remains should be returned to their ancestors or preserved for history. I found this film to be very interesting because it relates to the history of the United States.

An Acquiring Mind: Philippe de Montebello and The Metropolitan
-This film discussed Philippe de Montebello, who served for 31 years as Director of The Metropolitan Museum of Art. This film also described the process in which art is acquired and accepted into a museum’s collection. - Philippe de Montebello guided the acquisition of more than 84,000 works of art, demanded innovation in conservation techniques, and oversaw the doubling of the physical size of this world-renowned cultural institution.

2.) Do the videos relate to the creation of your Art Exhibition project? If yes, explain how. If no, explain why not.
Yes, the videos do relate to the creation of our art exhibitions project. The videos provide us with ideas on what to base our projects on as well as great insight into the variety and range art culture has to offer.

3.) What is your opinion of the films? Do they add depth to understanding of the art concepts you practiced while creating your curation project?
Each video focused on a different topic, but provided an in-depth explanation. I have not completed my project yet, but the portion that I have completed has been assisted by this week’s assignments. I have enjoyed the assignments that we complete every weeks especially the ones that involve interacting with other students in the class.

Module Eleven - Blog: Video Review

1. Explain why you selected each of the TWO videos you choose from the selection listed above.

I selected the “Expressionism” video and “The Impact of Cubism” video for my blog because the titles caught my attention. I was also curious from what I had read in the text and felt that these videos would be interesting.

2. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned.

Expressionism - Expressionism was a modernist movement, initially in poetry and painting, originating in Germany at the beginning of the 20th century. Its typical trait is to present the world solely from a subjective perspective, distorting it radically for emotional effect in order to evoke moods or ideas. Edward Munch is mentioned in the film as well as his work that utilizes expressionism. Expressionism is the exploration of the inner-state of the human mind.

Cubism - Cubism was “defined” on two fronts: the private and gallery situation for the art of Picasso and Braque and the public and exhibition setting for the Salon Cubists and was thus “defined” only in terms of art. It could be said that Futurism was also a political movement that employed art as a weapon against tradition, and that Cubism was an art movement that employed art as a weapon against art. Cubism uses shapes and line to transform real situations into a piece of art.

3. How do the videos relate to the readings in the text?

These videos relate to the readings in the textbook by describing different perceptions of Expressionism and Cubism. The videos further the information that is described in the text, but in greater detail. These videos provide a deeper understanding of the influence of artwork and expand our knowledge of these topics. We take away much from these videos as students and can apply it to the assignments each week.

4. What is your opinion of the films? How do they add depth to understanding of the readings and art concepts?

I enjoyed the films, because they provided a different perspective beyond the text and different details about both subjects that I found interesting. I was especially interested in Cubism.

Module Ten - Blog: Video Review

1. Explain why you selected each of the TWO videos you choose from the selection listed above.

I selected the “Buddhism” video and “African Art” video for my blog because the titles caught my attention. I was also curious from what I had read in the text and felt that these videos would be interesting.

2. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned.

Buddhism video-

Buddhism is more than a religion; it is a way of life. It promotes a moral life, to be mindful and aware of thoughts and actions and to develop wisdom and understanding.  They believe that death is not the end of life, it is merely the end of the body we inhabit in this life, but the spirit will still remain and seek out new life. They will be born as a result of the past and the accumulation of positive and negative action, and the resultant karma (cause and effect) is a result of one’s past actions. This would lead to the person to be reborn in one of 6 realms which are; heaven, human beings, Asura, hungry ghost, animal and hell.

African Art Video-

African art especially masks and statues show various human expressions, bodily shapes and unique forms. These are used for religious purposes as well as tools to frighten enemies. Much of African art is highly influenced by nature and the natural human form.

3. How do the videos relate to the readings in the text?

These videos relate to the readings in the textbook by describing different perceptions of Buddhism and African Art. The videos further the information that is described in the text, but in greater detail. These videos provide a deeper understanding of the artwork and expand our knowledge of these topics. We take away much from these videos as students and can apply it to the assignments each week.

4. What is your opinion of the films? How do they add depth to understanding of the readings and art concepts?

I enjoyed the films, because they provided a different perspective beyond the text and different details about both cultures that I found interesting.

Module Ten- Art Making/Material Exploration Blog

1. Upload the three (3) inspiration images to your Blog (or link to your Photobucket account). Explain why you selected the inspiration pieces.

I found these masks visually interesting and wanted to find out more information about their history.

2. Include the analysis and description (art criticism steps) of the three (3) inspiration pieces.
All of these masks show various physical features of a human face. They all have various forms and shapes that create the unique form of the mask. Two elements included in each mask is the use of color and various designs such as lines. The intention of the various artists could have been for religious or tribal purposes as well as for the use during war times to fear their enemies.

3. Upload images of your sketches and finished piece.

4. Explain how you used the Elements and Principles in your finished mask.
I used many elements and principles during the process and in my finished mask. I used lines and shapes to create the form of my mask. I used several different colors to make my mask unique and express my own personality.

5. Share your opinion of your finished mask and what you thought about creating the mask.
I enjoyed this process very much. I got to learn the history of various cultures and the mask they created as well as creating my own.

Module Nine - Art Making/Material Exploration Drawings - Exploring Line

1. What was it like using your hand as subject matter for a drawing?
It was an interesting concept that I thought would be an easy concept. It turns out however that it was much more difficult than I originally expected. The hands have such fine details and trying to capture them all is almost impossible especially when trying to do it with your less dominant hand.

2. What media did you select - pencil or charcoal? Why?
I decided to use a pencil because I felt that it would be easier to fix my many mistakes. It was also very useful because of the sharp point that allowed me to create fine lines.

3. How did it feel to create a drawing with your non-dominant hand?
I feel that the drawing process with my non-dominant hand was extremely more difficult then I originally expected. It took some time to get use to trying to draw with my left hand. I did in the end get sort of use to utilizing my left hand over my dominant right hand.

4. Compare and contrast your final drawings. Do you think they are successful studies?
I do think that the final drawings were successful because you can easily identify what they represent. I did have difficulty with the drawing of each hand however, it was defiantly successful.

5. Would you consider using your non-dominant hand to create artwork in the future?
While I think it was an interesting process and unique experience I do not think that anyone would prefer me to utilize my non-dominant hand to create artwork in the future. I did enjoy the process however and would not it again for the enjoyment and difficulty.

Module Nine - Blog: Video Reviews

1. Explain why you selected each of the TWO videos you choose from the selection listed above.
I selected “The Drawings of Michelangelo” video and “Leonardo da Vinci: The Mind of the Renaissance” video for my blog because the titles caught my attention. I was curious how from what I had read in the text and felt that these videos would be interesting.

2. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned.
“The Drawings of Michelangelo” video:

The Drawings of Michelangelo video discusses the many sketches and paintings that Michelangelo created.  He was considered a well renowned sketch artist and each of his art pieces were a unique creation.  Many of his past work was destroyed by the artist himself, but the ones that survived provided a window into his life. These pieces of art are priceless to people within the art world.

“Leonardo da Vinci: The Mind of the Renaissance” video:

The Leonardo da Vinci: The Mind of the Renaissance video discussed the work created by Leonardo da Vinci and the theories behind the man. He is a well renown artist known for his paintings of landscapes, drawings of the human body and technological designs. He secretly did autopsies of humans and sketched detailed drawings of the human body. This at his point in history was a crime punishable by death. His curiosity drove him to continue his research and is in many reasons we have the scientific evidence of the human body that we do today.

3. How do the videos relate to the readings in the text?
These videos relate to the readings in the textbook by describing different perceptions of the artists and further the information that was described in the text. These videos provide a deeper understanding of the artwork and expand our knowledge of these artists as themselves. We take away much from these videos as students and can apply it to the assignments each week.

 4. What is your opinion of the films? How do they add depth to understanding of the readings and art concepts?
I enjoyed the films, because they provided a different perspective of the known artists beyond the text. It was interesting to see how various pieces of art took form throughout the years by both artists and what they sacrificed to create such art. I think that it would be beneficial for the students to discuss their finding with each other rather than us just posting a blog. I find the discussions to be very helpful in relating to the material, because I can read how other people view and define the text.

Module Eight - Blog: Video Reviews

1. Explain why you selected the video you choose from the selection listed above.

I selected Cataclysm: The Black Death Visits Tuscany video for my blog because the title caught my attention. I was curious how such a title related to what we have been learning about art history.

2. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned.

More Human than Human Video: This video describes various cultures and their view of the human form. Throughout the video, various cultures are discussed and examples of how each culture captured the human form artistically are defined. The most interesting to me was Egypt and all that the culture was able to accomplish.

Cataclysm: The Black Death Visits Tuscany Video:  This video describes the Black Death within Sienna and Florence. The video focuses on the aftermath of the plague on the two city-states and how they dealt and were reborn though this tragedy. The spread of plague seemed almost impossible. People began to seek a higher power, which led into the higher renaissance. I enjoyed this video because it was very informative and interesting to understand how people survived during such a time.

3. How do the videos relate to the readings in the text?

These videos relate to the readings in the textbook by describing different cultures perceptions of the human body. Each culture had a different view of what the human body represented and how to capture it artistically. The videos focused on the progression of art throughout the world while the text focused on how individuals and art influenced change within society.

4. What is your opinion of the films? How do they add depth to understanding of the readings and art concepts?

I enjoyed the films, because they provided a different perspective based on various cultures throughout history. It was interesting to see how various cultures viewed the human body and to learn about Tuscany and the Black Death. I think that it would be beneficial for the students to discuss their finding with each other rather than us just posting a blog. I find the discussions to be very helpful in relating to the material, because I can read how other people view and define the text.

Module Seven - Blog: Video Review

1. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned.

Prairie Style: This video details the work of Frank Lloyd Wright. This architect focused on creating non-traditional buildings. His buildings focused on floating horizontal planes and an organic relationship to their natural surroundings. He is well known for much of his early work in Chicago.

Imperial Rome, Ostia, and Portus: Ancient Architecture and Technology: This video examines the technology behind the architecture that characterizes Imperial Rome and its transshipment centers. The video details the geography and natural resources of Rome. Throughout the video, you learn how cities were constructed, materials used, and how cities were constructed to be functional.  I found this video to be interesting because although the methods and materials changed, cities planning remained the same. Cities were constructed primarily to be functional.

2. How do the videos relate to the readings in the text?

The videos relate to the readings in the text by showing the various styles of design and architecture. The videos provide an in depth view into different areas of architecture that were not detailed in the text. The videos that I watched both assist in helping the viewer understand what is architecture and how the parts can be assembled to create something new and unique.

3. What is your opinion of the films? How do they add depth to understanding of Architecture?

I enjoyed both films, they gave me a better understanding of architecture and design. I found them to be interesting and highly informative. They both have influenced how I see structures and homes. The way that buildings can have such subtle details and a since of harmony is astonishing to me.

4. Why did you choose the films that you watched?

I choose the films that I watched because out of all of the videos they were the two that seemed to catch my curiosity. The title and details on both videos interested me so I decided to complete the assignment on both of these videos. I enjoyed them both and I am happy with my choices.

Module Six - Blog: Reviewing Peer Responses to Artwork

Project One Review:

1. Hyperlink the Blogs you reviewed into your Blog

2. When looking at Project #1: (Elements and Principles), did you agree with the element or principle the artist listed with the images? Did you see other elements and principles in the images?

Yes, the elements and principles are visible in the images provided. There are multiple elements and principles, but the one identified is the most relevant.

3. When looking at Project #2: Where there any images in the Peer Blogs the same as your own? If yes, what were they? Where the reasons the image was selected the same or different as your own?

No, unfortunately not.

4. Were there any images that your Peers selected that pique your interest now? If yes, what are they and what is your connection with them? What would you want to know about them?

Yes, I was very interested in the Jackson Pollock Drawing – it seemed to be exquisitely sloppy and haphazard, though there were some figures hidden in the piece. This image interests me because of the hidden images and messages that it can represent to many different people.

5. What do you think about the process of reading your peers reflection? Do you find this to be a valuable in your learning?

Yes, I found this assignment to be very helpful because it allowed me to better understand my own work. It was also interesting to hear from my fellow classmates on their experiences and the incite that they have from these projects.

6. Check your Blog and read comments posted by your Peers. Do you find their comments helpful?

Yes, in fact some people had many of the same pictures and views as I did. It was helpful to read others points of view and see that many agree with your own work and opinion.

Module Six - Blog: Video Review

1. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned.

Through the Eyes of a Sculptor: This film explains the views of sculptors and the creation of a piece of sculptor as art. Fine art includes painted portraits and sculptures of the human figure, was not useful, but rather made for beauty and visual consumption only. The historical distinction made between craftsman and artists was that crafts and therefore craftspeople were useful while artists whose work was that of beauty and not functionality were not.

Glass and Ceramics: This film explains the process of glass and ceramic making, along with the components used to create each. Glass is made from one of the most abundant substances on the Earth, which is sand. Glass is created by heating and cooling these components together and then blowing the glass into a specific form.  Glass is often used to create specific forms and is well known for stain glass pieces such as windows. These stain glass windows can even be used to tell a story or a point in history. Ceramics are being used just as much as glass and for just as many purposes.  The quality of the components is what determines the use of the ceramic. Ceramics are commonly used for dishes, floor tiles, and even bricks. These materials are commonly replacing wood and  stone for their abundance of materials and use.

2. How do the videos relate to the readings in the text?

These videos provide and in depth view of how materials can be used for both sculpture and craft. They both provide and interesting explanation on the different methods and techniques used to create glass and ceramics. The videos help anyone who reads the text to better learn the material using a different media and each video provides useful examples that explain the topics.

3. What is your opinion of the films? How do they add depth to understanding of the topics: Sculpture, Installation, and Craft?

I enjoyed the films because they were both very helpful in understanding the text. The films were very in depth and provided good examples to relate too. They were kind of stale, but that was mainly because they were probably meant to be educational.

Module 5 - Project 2

A.) Which artworks make an impact or impression on me? Why?
This painting really caught my eye. The use of shapes makes me scan the painting and the more time I spend looking it at the more I seem to be amazed at what I begin to notice. Its a really impressive piece of art and a wonderful experience.

(Afro Concertino, 1948, Oil and watercolor on canvas, Support: 27 1/2 x 35 1/4")

This painting made an impression on me because of its interesting design and the way it seems to flow just like water. I really like the way that it catches the light and the detail used to express motion.

(Carrie Yamaoka, (American, 1957). Koolpop #12, 2003, Mylar, urethane resin and mixed media. Support: 73 x 45")

B.) Which artworks do I feel a connection with? Why?
I felt a connection to both of these painting because I have always been close to the water and have experienced many coastal storms. Currently living in NY near Niagara Falls, the second painting really makes me feel connected to the artist and the history of this area.

(James Tibbitts Willmore, engraving, unframed: 12 x 14" (30.48 x 35.56 cm.))

(William James Bennett (British, 1787–1844, Niagara Falls - View of the American Falls From Goat Island, 1831, Color aquatint on paper, Sheet: 16 x 20 ½)

C.) Which artworks would I like to know more about? Why?
I would like to learn more about these two paintings. I have always been interested in Japan and the countries history. This painting really peaks my interest on the area and time period that it might be referring too.

This paining and its use of shading is extremely impressive. I would really like to see more work by this artist and know the inspiration behind such work.

Module 5 - Logo Design

1. Discuss what you thought about creating your logo.
I thought that the process of creating my own logo was interesting and exciting. I spent some time researching other logos and how they have lasted the test of time. The process of creating my logo was difficult before I planned what I wanted to accomplish.

2. Describe the process: creative thinking skills and ideas you used in the logo creation.
I began the process of creating my logo by first thinking about what I wanted my logo to represent. I thought about a specific brand that I want to create through the use of my logo. From this point I began sketching different patterns and designs that could form this logo. I finally decided to utilize the name of company as part of logo as it also represents the customers. This is how I create the end result of what my final logo is today.

3. What was the most important discovery you made in the creation of your logo?

The most important discovery I made in the creation of my own logo was the history of logos and the value a logo can offer. Logos represent a company’s past as well as future. They define the product offerings of a specific company as well as the market in which those offerings are targeting. A logo can represent the rating of a company and persuade consumers to buy products that have a logo of a positive rated company. This is what I would hope my logo would do if I ever utilized it in my own business.

4. What is the most important information you learned from watching the videos, PowerPoint, and reading material for this project? What is your opinion of the videos?
The videos were very helpful in defining what a logo is, how to create one and what they should represent. The most important information I learned from the videos about logos is that they need to be designed to capture the company’s spirit and work across different formats, such as on paper, signs, windows, and Web pages. The logo should speak to consumers and be recognizable with a single glance.

Module 4 - Exploring Value and The Subtractive Color

1. Discuss what you thought about creating the Value Scale and Color Wheel.

I enjoyed learning about the process and gathering the supplies for the project. It was interesting using different techniques and the transferring everything to my blog. Overall, I enjoyed the assignment very much.

2. Which media did you enjoy working with the best and why?

I enjoyed the painting process and the act of mixing colors to create completely new colors. I found it interesting how the primary colors create every single color on the color wheel.

3. What was the most important discovery in the creation of these studies?

I found it very difficult to create true colors as we know them especially when mixing colors to create new colors. It was also very difficult to create everything with straight lines and in proportion.

4. What is the most important information you learned from watching the videos for this project?
What is your opinion of the videos?

The most important information I learned from watching the videos would be the steps needed to create the value scale and color wheel. Creating the value scale can be difficult when going from black to white to show the different levels of color. The color wheel was also difficult because of the mixing of colors and the use of different brushes. I enjoyed both assignments.

Module Three - Project One - Reflection

Throughout this project I explored the different concepts of the elements and principles of art. I traveled around my neighborhood trying to observe everything that surrounded me so that I could really take a creative stand point when completing this project. I took more than triple the pictures that were required and then sorted through the ones that I truly thought represented the element, principle and myself. This project was much more difficult than I originally expected, but I really enjoyed the creative process and everything I learned along the way. I hope that you all enjoy my pictures and I look forward to viewing yours.

Third Blog Posting - Color Theory and Emotional Effects

1.      Describe Color and its effects on emotions. Use the appropriate vocabulary of color in your posting.
Color defined as it pertains to the use of hue in artwork and design. Red, yellow, and blue are primary colors, which cannot be mixed in pigment from other hues.  Green, orange, and violet are secondary colors, which are directly mixed from combinations of primary colors. Specific colors are used to promote specific emotions or reactions in types of art and are used to create optical effects. Colors affect a wide range of psychological and physiological responses that are used throughout different forms of art.
2.      What is a theoretical aspect of color that most intrigues/fascinates you? Why?
What intrigues me most about color is the wide range of psychological and physiological responses different forms of color can have on an individual. Red can symbolize danger and anger, but it is also used to indicate joy or love. Yellow is the color of cowardice and ill health, but it is also the color of a warm summer day. Only context can provide clues to a color's meaning or emotional impact.
3.      In the Color video, what made the biggest impact on you in regards to color and its effects on emotions?
In the video, the biggest impact on me in regards to color and its effects on emotions was the fact that different shades of color have various effects as well as the meaning s of such colors. Colors with intense and bold hues and sharp contrast evoke more reaction than smooth and lighter colors.
4.      In the Feelings video, what made the biggest impact on you in regards to color and its effects on emotions?
In the video, the biggest impact on me in regards to color and its effects on human feelings was the difference between light and dark colors to represent the vast differences between levels of emotions. The artists discussed in this video explore the use of a vast array of colors and are considered radicals of their time and thought social progress was possible. They use art to represent dark themes more than light. They expressed passion and a rebel feeling through their art.
