Module Ten- Art Making/Material Exploration Blog

1. Upload the three (3) inspiration images to your Blog (or link to your Photobucket account). Explain why you selected the inspiration pieces.

I found these masks visually interesting and wanted to find out more information about their history.

2. Include the analysis and description (art criticism steps) of the three (3) inspiration pieces.
All of these masks show various physical features of a human face. They all have various forms and shapes that create the unique form of the mask. Two elements included in each mask is the use of color and various designs such as lines. The intention of the various artists could have been for religious or tribal purposes as well as for the use during war times to fear their enemies.

3. Upload images of your sketches and finished piece.

4. Explain how you used the Elements and Principles in your finished mask.
I used many elements and principles during the process and in my finished mask. I used lines and shapes to create the form of my mask. I used several different colors to make my mask unique and express my own personality.

5. Share your opinion of your finished mask and what you thought about creating the mask.
I enjoyed this process very much. I got to learn the history of various cultures and the mask they created as well as creating my own.
